A country’s allowing a person to change his or her documents’ description of their sex - based on self determination - also thereby allows for a lot of fraud - as Julie Bindel described. Simply on that basis, it is a bad idea. So, it is the best idea to live as you like, but not to permit changes to your sex in legal documents. I do not understand why it so important to autogynephilic men to have their documents changed to legally indicate they have chosen to present themselves as women?
I’m so glad that you just told it like it is, no holds barred Julie. As a woman constantly facing gaslighting men pretending fiction is reality, I really, really needed to hear your unequivocal statements of reality. I also appreciated the lawyer for the same reason. But I fear this panel discussion was performative only. The two sex fakers had only lies to offer.
Interesting and civilised. Julie always the most compelling speaker wherever she is! It's a shame the expression "assigned...at birth" still goes without challenge though. It is so demonstrably false I don't know how it still gets a pass.
You were brilliant and the meeting itself was unusually civilized.

Thank you, Julie, for this very cogent perspective.
You were brilliant, Julie, cogent and clear. A favorite quote, which I am saving, is “I’m not gender critical, I’m gender abolitionist.”
