Not only women, but all of us are fortunate that you continue to call out the nastiness, the injustice and the lunacy impacting gender and/or sexual politics. Doing this requires genuine bravery as well as a thick skin. Top woman.

Thank you, Julie, for another terrific piece. You are a brilliant journalist whose coverage of sex trafficking, pornography, DV, sexual assault and all forms of violence against women and girls is a source of information, courage, and inspiration for me. I began reading your 2003 - 2007 articles in the Guardian in 2014, after searching the internet for answers. I had been public as a survivor of sex trafficking since 2009, and was surprised to witness a global movement toward legalization of the sex trade, and was stunned by the myopic and patronizing assumptions by academics (who have no lived experience of the sex trade) that “sex work” is a viable career. Your work is honest, clearly stated, and thoroughly cited. You bravely travel the world in order to witness firsthand, on the ground, the women who are engaged in struggles against misogyny. You’re still a source of inspiration to me! Thank you for always using your platform to call out the BS. You Rock!

Your tenacity and bravery in the face of such vicious, threatening opposition is so inspirational.

The irony of men, who state they are women, behaving in such a way (very familiar to anyone who has been at the receiving end of DV etc) is not lost on many us. I have given your book to my 15 year old daughter. Beware the perils of appeasement. Feminism is for women, it centres women and it must concentrate on the most vulnerable.

Great article. I would not be a typical defender of feminism or gay rights for that matter but fairness and justice matter. I am a father of a girl and have sisters and of course a mother. Misogyny is one of the most pernicious and underrated of all abuses - since its victims are being sacrificed on the altar of trans - which is to say - mens rights.
