Once again thank you for this education . I feel like I’ve been blind or working in a silo in my own fight for women’s rights within a broken criminal justice system . It’s so uplifting to know there are Shield-maidens everywhere .. looking out for women everywhere who are unaware they NEED women like Julie Bindel and the Freya of this movement .. Lee Lakeman .. thank you . Just a MASSIVE thank you ♥️
This is fantastic. Thank you for making this. I've just listened to all four episodes in a row today and it's so nice to hear real feminist history. I knew the story of the dead rat nailed to the door, but I'm glad to know the full story now. As an early-20s radical feminist and lesbian, I feel like so much of the history of our groups is erased or rewritten. I feel adrift knowing that that history is missing, that I don't know it, that it's deliberately suppressed. You've given me a little more hope here, made me feel a little less alone. When women were fighting for suffrage in the nineteenth century, the idea of women voting was completely unheard of. There was no precedent. Now, it's basically accepted. I believe that ending male violence is equally possible, so long as we have the drive and the work to do it. Thank you so, so much.
I knew about the attacks against the Vancouver rape relief center but I didn't know about the amazing women who created it and fought for it. Thank you for not letting the hateful idiots be front and center when there are such incredible feminists out there!
