Absolutely spot on Julie! Am wondering if you and others have felt that the growing backlash against the woke gender insanity agenda is going to propagate even more of these types of crimes against homosexuals in general and lesbians in particular. I am in the US and am very much afraid that we are collectively moving towards an extremist response to the continual pushing of gender ideology onto our children. I was quite suprised recently when a friend referred to the current transgender caze as being a 'homosexual' agenda. Concerned me greatly since she is usually more tolerant and circumspect in her words. I of course pushed back and pointed out that many homosexuals do not agree with the current transgender policies and as a result have suffered attacks just as much or more as heterosexuals who have pushed back.
It occurred to me while reading this that, while “corrective rape” has been around forever and always, after the western world started tackling it, a political and human rights infrastructure was born--that women and feminists in places like South Africa can now call upon as a frame of reference.

Thank you Julie.
