This is the comment I came here to make! I love Martina but she has to be consistent in her logic and implementation. If she is done with calling trans identified males, trans 'women'. She should also be done with calling a trans identified man 'she'.
Listening to Martina was wonderful but when athletes like Megan Rapinoe and Brittney Griner accept the absurdity that 'trans-women are women' I shake my head in disbelief.
It is painful and disheartening to realize that in the 21st century women's rights are under threat as much in very liberal countries as in right-leaning states and theocracies worldwide.
Though conservative voices in the Anglosphere and Europe have helped amplify our cries for our sex-based rights we will need MANY more liberals, and especially young women, to wake from their stupor and lead us out of this horrible darkness.

Yes, this case is a disgrace. Another woman being discriminated against in sports on the basis of her sex. Male paraphilias, distinctly male pathologies, take priority over women's sex-based rights. These paraphilic pathological males pretending to be women should be banned from women's sports. There must be more male deviants, males w/ paraphilias and fetishes, in the sports governing bodies, along w/ their 'transmaidens' and the usual misogynists, than we realized.
Also, I find it quite troubling that men in western society are not standing up in arms and strongly denouncing and shutting down this situation, as opposed to being passive by-standers, leaving their women literally unprotected and abused by their trans identified brothers.
Transmen are indeed attempting to encroach on Gay men's spaces - they call themselves "transf*gs" and to them we're "cisf*gs" - but I don't think there's as much pushback. As Martina noted, a lot of Gay men are all in with this gender identity stuff. But you know, I think maybe too much energy is being spent railing against trans-identified males (many if not most of whom I'm convinced are mentally ill). Exactly! That's what I've been saying all along. Lia Thomas is just a distraction. The real issue is the male dominated, decision-makers within the regulatory sporting bodies that allowed men to compete in women's sports and take away all the benefits of doing so. Those regulatory sporting bodies need to be challenged, called into question and made fully accountable for creating deeply unjust and misogynistic attacks on women and women's sports.
This case with the Canadian Federation of Powerlifters Is an example of the point you made ie 'institutions' allowing men to compete in women's sports. A female athlete, April Hutchinson is being penalised by her regulatory body for speaking out about the unfairness and now she faces a 2 yr suspension for referring to a man who ranked 6000 in the male category, who changed to the women's category and has walked off with all the top awards, as a 'biological male', stating it goes against their 'code of ethics'. However, their code of ethics doesn't seem to apply when this male athlete is publicly, verbally abusing women and calling them every vile name for respectfully talking about the unfairness happening within women's sports:

The 'handmaidens' of today were Mary Daly's 'token torturers' decades ago. I'm stunned by the insistence of intelligent women that transwomen are women and do not affect women's rights and safety.
