The most misogynistic statement that one can make publicly and to great applause is "Transwomen are women." The other acceptable performative act of misogyny is to make a puzzled face when queried "What is a woman?". Thank you for coming to Vancouver to shine a light on our disgraceful City of Blights. Here, "women's rights" have become "trans rights" which is just the "men's rights" movement in drag. As a new reader of yours but an old lefty, i.e. class warrior, your writing is a breath of fresh air in this foetid swamp of identitarian nonsense.
I find it interesting that so many of the negative comments (about Julie or her take on it all) posted on the Trudeau article are from men. Really, perhaps you can please just be quiet and let us women try to fix this mess.
Just to be clear, Trudeau and the Liberal Party have NOT managed to decriminalize prostitution, although they would dearly love to. PCEPA (Protection of Communities and Exploited Persons Act), our version of the Nordic Model, is still the law in Canada, for over 10 years, even if Vancouver law enforcement refuses to bring charges based on it. And Vancouver is not typical of other parts of Canada.
