It's a funny, claustrophobia little town, mostly because it's in a valley, but great to visit and that shoe shop is fab and I can travel there easily from Bradford. Mark Steel did quite a funny programme about Hebden.
Local rumour has it that heterosexual couples don’t settle there because men are more wary of buying property there because of its history of flooding - women are less cautious and don’t worry - or bother themselves - about such things.
