I believe that behind this is a deeply phallocentric view of sexuality where women’s sexuality is seen only in relation to men. Woman is defined as ‘lack’. The vagina is simply a receptacle for a penis. Women are not seen as having any sexual agency.
Great interview. Thank you Sophie for your bravery and honesty. Doctors need to be held accountable for the risks they are taking with the health of gender dysphoric children. Children cannot comprehend the lifelong costs and challenges of undergoing sexual reassignment and thus cannot consent. Doctors are encouraging parents to allow them to experiment on their children through fear-mongering with false suicide statistics and false medical claims of safety and functionality of medical sex change. Its is disgraceful and unethical.

The part about milking women, when Julie said something like it's the intersection of capitalism, patriarchy, sexism & racism: EXACTLY. It's horrifying & grotesque & evil. Some years ago I drew a strip of a dystopian situation where a woman was being milked. I didn't dream it was happening

Like others, the story of poor mothers and their babies being exploited for their milk is horrific and clearly indicates the commodification of female bodies as we see played out in surrogacy, prostitution and medical technology for uterus transplants into male bodies.
It’s as if the doctors thinking was that it would be abhorrent for Sophie to grow up as a man without an operating penis; whereas if you tricked this boy into being a girl, she would be much more agreeable towards difficulty facing ‘female’ issues including without a working vagina. Painful sex, damage and infection of neovagina, no pregnancy possible. Poor Sophie - seems a wonderful person listening to this interview.
