There is a huge difference between oppressed minorities fighting for their human rights and privileged minorities justifying their entitlement. This is yet another instance of privileged individuals equating inconvenience with oppression.
I just finished your essay in Unherd. I agree with you completely. Of great interest to me was this quote "Queer theorists... are pushing the line that paedophilia is a hardwired medical condition, and that therefore there must be some kind of “paedophilic gene”. And if these attractions are both innate and uncontrollable." Apart from being factually incorrect, this is a naïve and childish understanding of biology. However, this simplistic model is still continually used to justify and/or explain a variety of human conditions, especially those having to do with sex. If ever biology becomes better understood, the arguments against this nonsense would be more effective. Note for instance, this essay, "There is 'Biological Evidence for Gender Identity...' but it’s not what you think."
Complex human behaviors are not the product of single genes (or even identifiable clusters of genes). And, even if they were, it would not mean that the behaviors were "hard wired" or immutable.
Wow glad I found this excellent essay! Thank you for speaking out. I wish more people of integrity were investigating this persistent problem. In The Netherlands we are suffering with a new curriculum for social emotional learning and sexual education at young ages produced and circulated by institutions with very questionable ties to say the least. I recognize a similar timeline as you outline here. There has been one excellent expose and several overly sensationalist articles in alternative media, but no one except the usual dissidents and a percentage of parents (that rises as the craziness ratchets up every year) seem to give a rats ass about the kids.
