The Holy Month of Pride has become a shrine to narcissistic kinksters with a woman problem. It's time to put an end to this shameful spectacle and rebuild what was once a great liberation movement
Wow-as a heterosexual man I felt liberated by this article. I have been a supporter of gay rights for many years and have noticed that the Toronto pride parade has degenerated into freak show which always creeped me out.Thank goodness that the British supreme court has stated the obvious that trans women are men. Perhaps it will be a low walk back to sanity
Love this JB, your terfdom is unsurpassed. Fck pride, these guys and their dumb female apologists need to go to their rooms and get some serious shame happening.
Years ago gay pride was an event (not a month) that included parents and grandparents of gay and lesbian adults, children of same sex families, a celebration of normalizing gay and lesbian people. Now it’s morphed into freak show. Topless males with breast implants, topless females with mastectomy scars, furries, drag queens, etc etc. I’m straight and I have strongly supported the rights and to be fully acknowledged as members of society but I would never bring a child to this now and I used to think it was great when they were there.
They’re so deluded though that they’re blaming it all on Trump’s clampdown on DEI wafting across the Atlantic - see article on BBC website today. They just don’t get that support for Pride is draining away for the reasons you outline so well. I live in Brighton and we go away every year to avoid Pride. We don’t feel welcome any more as lesbians
The sooner the LGB segment of the alphabet jettisons the TQ++++ segment, the better. Lesbian women and gay men are labradors looking for a cuddle compared with the pit bulls of queer who are always on the lookout for someone to fight.
Since when has deliberately sexualizing children been considered a societal good? This whole crowd are all groomers working together to turn small humans into their personal toys to be used in increasingly fetishistic behaviors. https://lucyleader.substack.com/p/the-cinderella-effect-another-way
The nerve of those people -- that's what I keep feeling. The whole idea that this smallest and weirdest of the sexual minorities should appoint themselves the guardians of children is totally absurd. I think back to the days of Anita Bryant, and how she just assumed that gay people were after children. I never understood it. When I was a child myself, the bodies that appealed to me were the athletic bodies with public hair. Bryant didn't understand that the danger was still to come: trans people attempting to increase their numbers by convincing children that their problems would go away if they would just change genders. The shocking thing is that so many liberals fell for the notion that fiftyish men with autogynephilia could actually have the interests of children at heart.
The apprehension of the gay community over the Trans issue is understandable. Not so long ago, it was facing its own struggle for social acceptance within mainstream society. But the 2025 Trans community is different. It’s basic mojo is to scream ‘Fuck You!’ to society. Trans people crave recognition and validation, but the last thing they want is acceptance. A sneaky visit to the Ladies or a showy coffee in a Disney World café is a thrill, not a plea for societal approval. Meanwhile, a substantial proportion of so-called ‘Trans Women’ not only retain male genitalia, but are attracted to women. Ergo, they are ‘straight’. Yet they claim an association with the gay community. Gay people need to wake up. At least some of the corporate sponsors have already done so.
What can I say? I'm a gay man who agrees 100% with this well written. Years ago I participated in Pride when it was a genuine civil rights celebration for LGB people. Now it's just a freak show for fetishists, trans nutjobs, child abusers and obese straight people with blue hair calling themselves that highly offensive word "queer". It has been thoroughly taken over by far-left cultural Marxists pushing everything from intersectional nonsense to trans ideology. It does not speak to me, and I find it all insidiously homophobic and misogynist. I find it all cringe worthy, tasteless and vulgar, with no real point to be made other than hypersexualisation. I wouldn't be caught dead at Pride. It's all bullshit, and needs to be shut down. I'm glad the corporates are doing a runner and governments are starting to have second thoughts.
I'm a 75-year-old gay man and I feel the same way. I've posted my own comment. I particularly hate the word "queer". What does it mean? "Strange, weird, odd, abnormal, unusual" -- what's to be proud in being any of those things? That it has now become an umbrella term used by organizations everywhere really burns me up. We can excuse a non-binary person for not knowing what to call herself, so she adopts the term "queer" -- but when dozens of major universities open up Queer Studies departments, they should know better.
I'm a gay man turning 75 in August, and I agree with you. For me, the turning point was 20 to 25 years ago when I went out in my neighborhood (Jackson Heights, NY) on Pride day and found a platform set up by a well-known publisher of pornography which had near-naked porn actors dancing on it. Ten years before that, I had defended the right of a sex & porn shop to open in my neighborhood because, first, they opened on a heavily trafficked commercial street, and second, they were not displaying anything lewd in the window.
Being gay is, and yet isn't, about sex. Yes, people who are against us feel that way because the idea of people of the same gender having sex strikes them as unnatural -- but the answer to that is not to put our sex practices on display in the public sphere. Sex is, and always should be, private.
To a certain extent, the problem is the courts, which can be a slippery slope. If wearing a lambda pin or pink triangle (the gay symbols from earlier eras) must be legal, then it must be legal to wear a dog-face mask (yuck) or to go bare-chested -- and if it is legal to go bare-chested, then it must be legal to wear a speedo in public. There are no grays where the courts are concerned.
I haven't been perfect, though. About ten years ago I convinced a young man in my neighborhood (22) to let me fool around with him. But I treated him respectfully; and when he decided he didn't want to do it any more, I apologized. (He enjoyed it but said it made him feel gay.)
So as an old man that no one wants to have sex with, my solution is to look at gay porn and masturbate. But gay porn has been ruined by multiple things. The actors, who used to treat each other with love, now spit on each other and slap each other and swear constantly. Furthermore, pictures of trans men with vaginas, and trans women with bosoms and penises, are now routinely shown as part of gay porn, and those are images I don't like.
Influenced by weird "woke" ideas, all of society seems to be sliding off the deep end. And although I am a liberal, it is true that it is the liberals who are pushing the most absurd of the ideas.
However, I've noticed something positive. More and more straight men seem to feel comfortable experimenting sexually with other men (though, still, none of them want to do it with an old man!). I do wish that Lesbians could get their communities and bars back.
Thank you, I really appreciate your openness. I didn't know that about gay porn, although from what I have read about straight porn, I oughtn't to be surprised. I think that having achieved equal marriage, we are just too "normal" for the blue-hairs and the kinksters. They want to be "special".
I don't mean to suggest that gay porn was always loving and gentle. Men being men, a certain amount of domination was always part of it. However, it should be said that there are gay men who WANT to be treated roughly -- especially those who are passive during sodomy.
One of the interesting things about gay porn is that the men usually look like they are enjoying themselves. At worst, they may look bored or disinterested as they go through the motions. Some of them, I suppose, exaggerate their pleasure. In contrast, the women in straight porn look like they are acting and/or faking their pleasure (i.e., ALWAYS exaggerating). I understand that porn is always made with men as the target audience, and that may have something to do with it. But the differences between the men and women in porn are striking. It leads a person like me -- gay who has no sexual experience with women -- to have the impression that women simply don't enjoy sex. But that can't be true.
I can imagine that the male producers of straight porn require the female actors to act in exaggerated ways. I can also imagine that the fact that women are made to behave in such a fake way in porn is one of the reasons feminists hate porn so much, as it paints a fake and demeaning picture of women as nymphomaniacs.
One more thing: By making women act so absurd in pornography, porn also fosters the impression that women are more into romance than sex. Is that true or false?
I don't know about sex vs romance, but women are certainly socialised, and possibly wired, differently. What I do know is that porn is adversely influencing the sexual behaviour of youngsters, and I think it's highly unlikely that the girls get any pleasure from that.
Yes, I agree. Straight pornography seems to be teaching all the wrong lessons: "Men are in charge of women. Women's role is to gratify men." Like a lot of feminists, I get angry at the men and women who produce the porn. I don't understand how all those women can demean themselves, or how all those men think it's sexy to see women demean themselves.
Me too! One of the women in that photo is Femi, who was at Switchboard for years and I did Monday nights with her and Wanda at this time. When I came back from Sydney in 1991 Femi and Wanda had left Switchboard, after many years of volunteering, over trans women being volunteers 🫤, so nothing new🙄
While we STILL as a species refuse to genuinely address the plague of child sexual abuse, we have devolved into one long, continuous and public celebration of every sexual desire and act that must be celebrated, or else!! I’ve never cared what consenting adults do in private, but why we are obliged to applaud public visuals and demands of unilateral approval for every imaginable kink? I grew up with a pedophile - data suggest about 1 in 4 people have: Where are our rights not to have sexualized behaviors / acts / images literally foisted on us in public and in media? But- I think my dad would have just loved this.

I like the postings but this is slightly factually inaccurate. Lesbian and Gay freedom parades are primarily celebrating the freedom of same-sex association, and freedom to have sex without threat of criminal prosecution.
As such these parades have people celebrating sex.
The first L&G freedom even I went to was 1980 in Los Angeles, 18 years old. The second event was 1981 Houston TX - I marched in the event playing Alto Sax with the LA Lesbian and Gay Freedom Marching Band.
There were recherche characters in both, and the ones who cause the most commotion were topless women, and men in jockstraps or assless chaps,
1980, 1981.
These parades have always had provocative people, the provocation has changed but the situation is the same.
Here’s a nice description of a L&G event from the early 90’s. It’s hard to find much out there because this was over 50 years ago, but contemporary descriptions sound like the author.
What’s amusing is it seems to be mostly women, not gay men in parades wearing the item.
Now I’m in love with redundant phrases.
In the final conclusion of her past history at the annual freedom day parade celebration, the outspoken lesbian activist gave a free gift in close proximity to the main stage, where she made an advance preview of her added bonus outfit—a pair of actual assless chaps paired with an over-exaggerated rainbow feather boa—declaring with absolute certainty that her personal PIN number and safe haven of lesbian identity would forever remain null and void to hate, while she planned ahead to revert back to her regular routine after this unique event experience.

Make ostracism great again!

💯 purely a fetish/show offs event now

Can I get an amen!!
Is it just me, or do the women in the 1988 picture look happier, healthier and more together than the people in the modern photos?
It is not just you! We were happier, healthier and more together in 1988.

As a Leatherdyke of my entire adult life I feel a duty to point out that "assless chaps" is redundant. Chaps by definition lack ass.
You are correct. It’s like saying assless jockstrap. The fashion dictionary also corrects!
