The Misogyny of Mermaids
Why are lesbians and gay men not allowed to organise for our rights and liberation?
I was on this march, and it was amazing. I had moved to London the year before, and, a 26-year-old out and proud lesbian, this was the most incredible experience. The woman on the far left, wearing the beret, was my very dear friend and evil twin, Denise Marshall, who died in 2015. The one on the far right is Georgette, who was/is the most prolific flirt I have had the pleasure to meet.
How dare trans activist organisations tell us we have no right to campaign for our rights as lesbians?

This was a very powerful and moving read - thank you Julie. The misery that this tribunal has caused is profound - I do hope you are Ok.
This article was fascinating. Sometimes I wish the whining hordes on Twitter could understand these nuances before having a total meltdown over the issue.
