Dear subscribers
I hope you I've had a chance to listen to my interview with the amazing Carole Hooven. I wanted to let you know how I seek to improve the sound quality of my podcasts. I’m enjoying a steep learning curve when it comes to the technicalities.
I am, as you know, a print journalist in the main, but I also do a significant amount of broadcasting, including live radio, pre-recorded interviews, numerous podcasts, and even my own production for Radio 4 about sexism in the police force.
But I'm not that technically savvy.
I've got some state of the art equipment, and a brilliant audio producer on side. But I am, as you may have guessed, learning on the job. Some of my audio may sound a little bit tinny, and my producer has advised me to record my intro and outro in a room with loads of soft furnishings, duvets, pillows and the like. Therefore, like any sensible person, I will be doing that from my bed whilst still in my pyjamas.
Next I have Joan Smith for you, coming in the next few days. And in the coming weeks, I hope you recognise that I will get a little more slick and professional, and that the sound will be edging towards perfect. I can live in hope.
Best wishes to all of you, Julie X
