I used to be ambivalent about surgeries, because adults should have autonomy, but about 25 years ago when I grasped the depth of the compulsion and delusion with a series of detailed conversations with sex mimics, I grasped it’s like starving an anorexic or plying an alcoholic with booze.
Confirming a delusion harms the delusional person and those around them, and hastens a psychotic break with reality.
How many victims of stalking get to cut off their stalker's balls? Surprisingly not a deterrent, unfortunately... maybe it's the way you do it. This also leads me to question the internet theory of "testosterone poisoning"; its removal in this case hasn't tempered behavior, after all. How thoughtful of the judge to affirm this perpetrator's delusions and lament his unhappiness in prison.
Testosterone poisoning isn't something that you can just excise from your brain and body at any point in your life. Testosterone starts to shape male characteristics at about 6 weeks of fetal development. It's not always poisonous, but Testosterone does increase aggression, muscle tissue, bone structure, self-confidence, and paranoia (read The He Hormone by Andrew Sullivan, NYT Magazine). Testosterone provides a constant infusion throughout a males lifetime. It engraves neurological and physical patterns over time. So even if Testosterone is blocked or stopped, it has already left it's indelible imprint on the male body.
Good to know. There are certainly interesting experiments being performed on human beings in the field of “gender medicine”, yielding sometimes surprising results.
Men have about twenty times the amount of testosterone that women have. No matter how most males try to change their outward appearance, their behavior of dominance, aggression, entitlement and anger often gives them away.
Knowing men who were pushed into surgery in the 60s in the USA by their families simply because they were gay when homosexuality was illegal, it is interesting because they know they are men and never deny it is asked directly. Usually because they still react as men would even though they look like slightly dotty older women. I love them to bits because they dont pretend and never have that they are actually women, except they do look feminine in a strange unworldly way. It makes me sad that they look like they do and have had to go through their adult lives as something they are not. The world then and the world now are completely different animals and there should be no place for the surgery and hormones for people who are just different, and never for people who are mentally unwell. No civilised country should be operating with impunity on people who are mentally ill.
It has taken me a few days to pluck up the courage to read Julie's account, having been aware of the true horror of this case from coverage in the national press.
If ever there was a case that alerted the general public to the vivid, narcissistic sadism of the notion of 'trans-rights', then, this is it.
General public, and those still hypnotised by the delusions and hyperbolic claims of the 'trans-rights' cabals, please take instruction from the horrors of this case and test your delusions against fact, reason, reality and humanity - if you dare.
