Brighton: Trans tinsel town

It used to be a 24-hour party town for vacuous gays (and the odd lesbian) but these days it is better known for enabling vile, misogynistic gender ideology and encouraging children to transition

Idiots at Brighton & Hove Pride, 2023

Once a gay-friendly seaside town known for its spirit of freedom, openness, and tolerance, Brighton is now a “gender ideology haven”, according to a number of parents and other concerned citizens. Its local authority (Brighton and Hove) is the engine room driving the “trans ideology for kids” train forward, even as other local authorities are navigating away from it.

But parents in the city are fighting back, including the setting up of a community interest movement called PHSE Brighton, a campaign group focusing on how Personal, Social, Health and Economics is taught in schools across Brighton and Hove. Co-founder Bev Barstow tells me that since it was established in July this year, more than 20 families have contacted them with worries about their children being transitioned “from the classroom to the clinic” and they have received concerns from parents, teachers, or Governors at almost every secondary school in the City, some primary schools and even some nursery schools.

One of those families are deeply concerned about their 16-year-old daughter Catherine*, who is autistic. Therapeutic attempts have been failed because of her refusal to engage.

Less than two years ago, Catherine was a feminist and a proud lesbian. Now, apparently a victim of online radicalisation, she identifies as a boy and is fixated on medical and surgical transition.
